Just a little note of emotion here. My good friend Maïté who's been bedridden due to contractions since the 4th month of her pregnancy is finally able to get out! Her little girl was born last night at 3:05 am. I am so happy everything went well.
It was a tough pregnancy and I know she didn't always let on how sad and lonely she was. Thanks to the wonderful health care system here, she was able to stop working and still keep her salary and not risk losing her baby. She was even able to have a midwife visit her at home since driving brought on contractions. So a big welcome to little Maya! Oh snap, I'm gonna cry...

Yay!!!! I am so happy for her. She said it was a pretty easy birth.
Welcome little Maya!
Hurrah for Maya - and kudos to Maite for surviving bedrest! I'm not sure I could...
