Greatings from Chester.
In between the bla bla at dinner - which I handled pretty well once I had 2 glasses of champagne in me - and pretty good food, I had this enlightening conversation with a local businessman who is active in getting european funding.
While talking about lack of sleep when having kids...
"I know a lot about sleep" Oh really? "Every night that a person gets one hour less of sleep than he's accustomed to having, his IQ drops one point." Well, then I must have been a genious before I had a baby. "Imagine, 86 is considered to be the very low end of intelligent. For us, we just get a little sloppy if we lose a night of sleep. But imagine a train conducter who gets too little sleep for a few nights. His IQ drops to 79 or 78 and then there's a major accident."
At least the guy made himself tolerable by telling me where to go to feed my local cheese needs. He even told me to use his name to get special treatment. If it weren't for that, the little voice in my head screaming asshole may have actually been verbalized...

I soooo miss conversations with people I would never speak to if I didn't have to work with them. NOT.
Sounds like this gentlemen has missed a few nights himself...
my dearest friend, while you are enjoying the highlights of bad british wit, I am in the office trying to find the energy to perform "work". Yesterday I tried to replace your highly beneficial presence with episodes of Grey's Anatomy. I was trying to catch up so that i could watch the latest on TV. I did not succeed. I don't envy you in Chester my dearest friend. I find Europe is most of the time about meeting the worst people out there, the money grabbing scheming plotting ones, and not the culturally diverse and stimulating ones you might expect... good luck with it, and VIVA EUROPA !
I love your label for this post. But it's amazing I'm able to even type, since according to that dude I'm running on negative IQ points by now. I guess that explains a few things!
