6 random things

Better late than never...

oh so long ago, Beth tagged me.

The rules are:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let each person know they’ve been tagged and leave a comment on their blog
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

So I'll forego rules 4-6 since I obviously killed the rythm of the game by waiting a decade to jump in.

So my 6 random things are:

1. I like to eat frozen french fries while still frozen and taste bouillion cubes before I throw them in my pot of soup. Yeah, weird for a foodie like myself.

2. I used to be able to speak Hebrew. I can still ask for a bathroom and to tell you to f off.

3. I wanted to be an archeologist so I majored in religion at college. I thought I could be Indian Jones in female version, wandering the world and killing evil villains with my whip.

4. Just seeing a whole dead fish makes me want to hurl. And when I have to actually cook one, I have a panic attack. Really.

5. When I was a kid, my sister and I had a dog, a couple mice, some hamsters, some gerbils, some frogs, some turtles, a snake (the school didn't want it), salamanders, a rat (who I named after my sister because I didn't like either of them), lizards (we brought back on the plane from Florida!) and a half dozen guinea pigs (that my sister mated to make more and more and more).

6. I have a very strange/good memory. I can remember what I was wearing on a given day when I was doing something or other. Like the white shirt I was wearing the last day of high school or the shoes I was wearing when I moved to France or the shirt my husband was wearing 5 years ago last tuesday at 5.35pm. It freaks my husband out since he can't even remember where he put his shoes at night.

I have to say that of all of them, I find the revealation about the uncooked frozen french fries the freakiest. They are so...NOT tasty!!

The most impressive is your memory quirk, though. That's very unusual! I just recently read an article in New Scientist about people with this ability. Some can remember nearly every single detail of every day they've lived! It's funny that your memory is so oriented towards clothing, though. Are you particularly interested by clothes?

no, actually. I am not really interested in clothes at all. Most of my clothes are at least 5 years old...the only piece of clothing I care about is my running shoes. And I do remember every single pair I've owned and which races I ran in them. The New Scientist sounds interesting...

Eating frozen fries? Beurk!

I do have some memories associated with the clothes I wore too, and I do attach sentimental value to a few items of clothing I love. I have kept a "Tintin a New-York" t-shirt that I bought at the Printemps in Lille in 1995 or so. I can't wear it anymore, because it's very work out, but I will never get rid of it. I have also kept the shoes I was wearing when I stepped on American soil for the first time ever, in August, 1973.
