What...I absolutely AGREE with you on the voting... What saddens me is that I think a candidate like Barack Obama is exactly what our country needs -- a fresh face, a strong voice with new ideas to attack the problems of the past. Okay, most criticism says he's not experienced enough, but I truly believe a strong candidate like him will "apprendre sur le tas", as the French say, and I think his political experience up until now will serve him very well. Besides, what about JFK all those many years ago? I'm sure he wasn't that experienced to start with either, but he was the President our country needed at that time back then.

I'm so frustrated, because I, too, so want to see a Democrat voted into office, and I'm frightened that too many blind, intolerant, closed-minded Americans won't give a woman or a man of color a chance either. If only our people could change... It's just taking far too long for our society to realize and to recognize that strength and potential can come in any form, and that it doesn't depend on a person's sex, race or origin.

But, like you said, anything other than W will be an improvement... I guess we'll see what happens! I've sent in my form to request my absentee ballot as an American Living Abroad, and now I'm just waiting for it...The Late Bloomerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08337578942279132688noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35124868099611785.post-69354237762495544072008-01-24T07:58:00.000+01:002008-01-24T07:58:00.000+01:00I'm embarrassed to say that the map made me laugh ...I'm embarrassed to say that the map made me laugh too.

These elections will be pretty interesting.
